Healthcare & Spiritual Care

Presence, deep listening and compassion can support people living through illness, grief and difficult transitions, and the staff who accompany them. Caring for those receiving care and those offering it belongs to the same practice.

This path may be for you if

  • You accompany people through illness, grief or loss
  • You work in a healthcare or hospice service
  • You want care that honours each person’s pace
  • Your service wants to support both staff and the people in their care

What we practise

Being present

Meeting another person with attention and tenderness, without rushing or fixing.

Deep listening

Listening with the sole purpose of helping the other suffer less.

Caring for grief

A gentle space to meet loss and difficult life transitions.

Care for those who care

Mindful pauses and reflective practice for staff carrying the work of care.

Social Engagement

Peace in oneself, peace in the world.

Caring tenderly for suffering also means reaching beyond ourselves. The same practices of presence, deep listening and compassion can support people living through difficulty, and the staff who accompany them.

Hospices

Hospices have approached us for help: being present with residents and families at the threshold of life and death, and supporting the staff who accompany them there.

Bring the Practice to Your Service

If your service would like to explore this together, our circle is open.
